Any Signet of Illusion Mesmers out there mind sharing their build that stomps PVE?

So far I've read many variations such as

SoI, arcane echo, Ebon Vanguard Assassin, some Asuran Summon, what else?

SoI, insert elementalist nuking skills here, auspicious incantation.

I've never actually tried them, so I'm not sure if the Ebon one is viable, but at least it looks fun.

Also, are nuking builds any good after casting the spells? Don't you have to wait for the cooldowns therefore making you useless?

You would have to boost your attribute past 16 for it to be more effective than a r12 title track skill, unless your talking about a kurz/lux skill in which case it would be more effective with 16 illusion, so it's not really worth doing it with title track skills. You can use it with nuking, but since fast casting doesn't effect non-mesmer skills with an activation time of less than 2 seconds you might as well go elementalist so you can use an elite. Besides, nuking in PvE isn't that great once you get to HM.

It doesn't exactly stomp anything, but I get a HUGE kick out of using it in a bar consisting only of other skills that copy or steal spells. My build is saved as "SoI Crapshoot."

It's certainly sub-optimal, but it's a fun and challenging way to pve, if you've got party members with a sense of humor, or you're playing with h/h.

Inspired by Josip's Psychic Scythe, I thought I'd try something a little different. SoI allows us to use Mysticism spells at a decent level. So, whilst obviously a D/x could do this better, I just thought I'd share what I've been enjoying:

FC 6+1+1
Ill 11+1
SM 12

Zealous Scythe of Enchanting (15>50)

Sneak Attack
Farmer's Scythe
By Ural's Hammer
[E] Signet of Illusions
Heart of Fury
Aura of Holy Might
Armour of Sanctity
Resurrection Signet

Amazingly good damage, and Sneak Attack really helps with the survivability, as does AoS. In no way claiming this is a "good build" but it was strong enough to vanquish a few areas and was a refreshing change of pace for a dedicated caster

Hint: SoI is worthwhile if and only if your build revolves around at least 3 skills each from a different non-Illusion skill line and each which requires high spec to be effective and none of which need to be spammed.

And honestly, Ineptitude will pretty much out-damage any ele spike in HM. I'd try using another elite, PvE skills and the recent mesmer update has made SoI somewhat obselete.
